Specialized Care for Alzheimer’s Boston & Cape Cod Families Deserve

Alzheimer's BostonCaring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease presents many physical and emotional challenges for family caregivers. If you’re caring for a loved one who has Alzheimer’s or dementia, it’s important to know that it’s OK to ask for help, and who better to ask for professional dementia home care services than the expert caregivers at North River Home Care?

Our home health aides have been specially trained to help clients with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia maintain as much independence as possible, and in the most dignified manner. Our Associate Director, Laurel Lawson, is a certified Alzheimer’s Association Care Consultant who holds a “Train the Trainer” certificate from the Alzheimer’s Association and is responsible for training our caregivers about the disease and its related behaviors and challenges.

Beyond our in-house training, we have also collaborated with Alzheimer’s specialist Beverly Moore, founder of StilMee, to provide our caregivers with an extraordinary training program.

Together with StilMee, we have developed a unique training and support program, a first of its kind for the home care services industry. Via our Alzheimer’s and dementia training program, our caregivers receive:

Phone Coaching

Our caregivers can call a StilMee Alzheimer’s Coach day or night with any questions they may have about a situation with a client. This provides real-time assistance, specific to the issue that the caregiver is facing.

In-Services

StilMee coaches provide group training sessions on a variety of topics, including proper redirecting techniques, appropriate social activities, and effective communication.

Caregiver Connection Support Group

We host a monthly support group for our caregivers, which is run by a StilMee Alzheimer’s coach to help us stay on top of new ideas and support methods.

Sensitive Massachusetts Alzheimer’s Care When You Need It Most

In addition to providing assistance with activities of daily living, our specially trained caregivers can provide assistance with:

  • Monitoring nutritional intake
